Website Team
The website is operated by the Website Manager and other volunteers, all
of whom are directly involved with AFI Members. In 2008, AFI started to
operate the website independently without outsourcing the programming
duties. Now the website features a custom design with text and many
graphics created by AFI volunteers ourselves.
Website Manager:
The job of the Website Manager is to insure the website material is in
order and updated. The Manager relies on the support team volunteers to
produce page material and submit it. The Manager is responsible to fit
volunteers with the tasks that they can do best so that the organization
will experience the greatest benefit. if you have questions specific to
the website content, please email the Website Manager at:
websitemanager@aniridia.net
Website Programmer:
The Website Programmer is responsible for maintaining the website
structure and functionality. This includes most everything above the
basic webpage text and graphics, such as; the menu system, the login
area, and Members area services (Message Board, Chat Room, Surveys, etc).
The Programmer also works with the web server to insure that the network
interface is running smoothly. You can email the Website Programmer at:
websiteprogrammer@aniridia.net
Website Coder:
The duty of the Website Coder is to convert plain material submitted by
volunteers to the format needed for website use. Simply put, these
people add the basic HTML code into a document to make it into a webpage.
They are responsible for proofreading and format corrections also. The
Website Coder works closely with the Website Manager and Website
Programmer.
Website Authors:
The Website Authors are responsible for the research of topics and writing
up an article for the webpage. All that is required here is good writing
skills and a desire to help. There is no need for a Website Author to
know any programming language since the Website Coders will handle that.
Website Authors may also want to work with the AFI Newsletter staff for
submitting articles to the printed quarterly newsletter or the publication
for the Physicians. Its all about teamwork!
Website AV:
The Website AV team is responsible for creating or obtaining Audio and
Video material. This includes; clipart graphics, simple pictures,
photographs, and audio recordings for our webpages. We would like to
have our webpages recorded in the future so that those who cannot use
the internet would have an option of obtaining this online material.
The AFI Website Team is always looking for active AFI Members to get
involved with the development of AFI's online outreach. If you have a
willingness then we have a place for you!
